Photographer Gohar Dashti grew up in southwestern Iran, in the border town of Ahwaz. During the Iran-Iraq War of the 1980s, her life was interrupted daily by bombing and armed conflict. Her most recent work, which will be on view in the exhibition “Gohar Dashti, Photos 2017” at the Robert Klein Gallery in Boston through October 31, focuses on culture, habitat, and boundaries, notes AnOther. That includes her series “Home,” depicting residences in Iran overrun with dense vegetation.
