Last week we noted that History Channel researchers had found a photo, believed to have been taken in 1937, that seemed to show famed American aviator Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, on a dock in the Marshall Islands, then under Japanese control. A documentary that aired last Sunday speculated that Earhart survived a plane crash and died in Japanese custody. But now, notes CNN, two bloggers have already debunked the theory, stating that the photo in question was published in a Japanese coffee-table book in 1935, when Earhart was still in the US.
